Qualifying for a USDA Loan

An applicant must have a credit history that proves their capacity and desire to repay the loan, as well as a consistent and dependable source of income.

The USDA loan does not have a minimum credit criterion. The USDA’s computerized underwriting system, however, only accepts applicants with credit scores of 640 or above.
